Matt Gephart is a baseball technology and analytics expert with over a decade of experience in data operations within Major League Baseball (MLB). He specializes in the capture, validation, and management of high-resolution tracking data, having worked extensively with industry-standard systems including:

• Pitch F/X

• Statcast

• Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) System

Throughout his tenure in MLB’s Data Operations department, Matt ensured the accuracy and integrity of critical in-game data utilized by clubs, league offices, and broadcast partners. His operational expertise includes on-site and remote data capture, technical troubleshooting, and contributions to the Gameday Compliance initiative, ensuring that league-wide technology and equipment meet rigorous professional standards.

As the Director of Data Analysis and Owner at BTBB, Matt bridges the gap between complex data and player development. His primary focus is:

• Implementing and operating modern player-tracking systems.

Collegiate Athletics

Since the 2025 season, Matt has served as a Video Replay Technician for Big Ten football at Penn State University. As a proud alumnus, he enjoys his continued involvement with the Nittany Lions.

Personal Life
