Austen Hannis

Austen brings 20 years of teaching, coaching, and athletic administration experience to BTBB. After playing two years at Elizabethtown College, he spent nine years at Cardigan Mountain School in New Hampshire as a middle school teacher, assistant athletic director, and baseball, basketball, and football coach. He then served as Director of Athletics at Lancaster Country Day School before returning to his roots in the Lancaster community.

Having coached over 50 interscholastic seasons across four sports, Austen believes athletics is the vehicle where life skills like teamwork, integrity, and leadership become real. Today he teaches middle school math at Lititz Christian School, coaches varsity basketball, and works with infielders and coaches first base for Lampeter-Strasburg’s varsity baseball team.
